Lets hear from you …

November 28th, 2006

One of the most exciting thing in a start-up is to hear from the people using the product or services. This is one thing that motivates and inspires us to keep discovering the best. Here we have compiled what you have been saying to us, sometimes it is suggestions to improve other times demands for ‘more’ … Other times there are comments which are so generous and satisfying that we dont even remember missing that dabba of lunch! .. and sometime plain “you s**k !”.
Here we have put what some of you have said, Be it Bouquets or Brickbats — All are Welcome.

Siddharth: I think onyomo is really original, and the first of its kind in our country. It would do better if it gave live feeds of weather services. For eg. If i wanted to go to ITO, and i wanted information about the water looging situation there(It has rained heavily today), Onyomo could provide relevant info. about such matters. And then i could take a decision of whether or not to take my car there!!
Nazia : Hello! this is Nazia from Hyderabad I have read an article about onyomo on ibnlive.com and did go through u’r site which really is a helpfull one. Can I expect Hyderabad to join the run!?

Samir : Hi, i think this is good start and it will help a lot of people on the same. But this site should be advertise .so that people will know abt the same.

Aparnaa : hi, First i would like to congradulate u for this good work!! its a novel idea. there are many ways u could improve this better. just today i had a quick look and tried a search in bangalore ..i am fomr bangalore.. itried the following .. in first text box: icici ten i gave pin as 560078 and then in the categories drop down i selected ATM,its giving out the complete list of icici atms ..thats ok..but b4 it starts the serach i saw a quick popup that said seraching for florists!!! i think u need to check the details for that popup, its describing someother search!! i’ll let u know my feedbacks later.. it will be great if we have one such site with complete features about our city!!

Sriram.s : Respeceted Sir, I find your search engine to be excellent particularly for those who r new to the city.I wish that u extend this service to all the major cities in India so that it wuld be useful for number of people.I congratulate u for the exceellent job done and convey my best wishes to th entire team of onyomo to grow further, reach greater heights and to serve numerous people.

Dr. Gargi hota : the first things to appear should be a guid to emergency service like hospitals, ambulance, doctor for house calls, plumbers, electricians.

Poonam : The idea to help people find way is commendable. However, schools, colleges, and cyber cafes should also be added in your categories of search.Right now it does not work, but this will definitely improve the scope of this web site.

Balaji : i would like to see a open in a new link tab when i right click the mouse.

Mahima : i did not find anything useful in this site.. you can really shut down this site.. no practical use at all..

Vinal : I read an article about your site on the ibnlive.com and was interested and checked it out.. First of all the Idea and the execution is amazing. I follow online trends quite a bit and always thought such a service would only be introduced by a company like Google..and we would have to wait for a couple of years. But i am really happy its someone among us who brought it. I do understand the service has just started but felt its important to say that the maps about bangalore need to be more detailed. I felt you can also have a live Taxi Tracking in cities for the users on a GPRS guided map (yes, i know google has it), but it would be a tremendous click in the metro`s. Also if the user`s could respond back using sms saying they found the place(ATM,shopping mall) using your service could be great data for revenue generation and as a user I would feel good as well. Well i will be a regular at your site now. Liked the service keep up the good work.

Sourab : Would like to add restaurants, and use ful places of vijaynagar Area in Bangalore City.

Avipreet : Please correct ‘avaiable’ to ‘available’ on the homepage.

DKC : Baler Site

Abdul : Nice and useful site. Please make a mobile version of the site, which will definitely make ‘OnYoMo’ meaningful.

Santanu : Thank you for free service :-) Very well done. Please keep it up.

Akkashh : pathetic…site to see..welcome page is very dull and colourless…search method is poor.I was happy when I saw and heard ONYOMO in news…but everything out here is pathetic…It shud be attractive..wat ever the rates u have provided are very expensive.

Aniruddh: Very Happy to see our own indian search portal.vast ur roots 2 other citys also.i m from ahmedabad do start service here.make a surch very advance, like i need a restaurant location but in perticular area n for perticular food,so take info like what type of food needed,in which area, what the buget means geanrel/3star4star.n i can see that u take many restarant in ur web.u can start online food order coz u hae a ccontact already with the owners so use it n start a new biz of online ordar takeing.allprodacts.u just think, aperson who have a small shop.he cant effort2 make a costly website for product seling but by using ur website he can earn money,u wll also n the person will get a somthing whih he wants at home.in future iwill give my ideas 2 ur portal i hope u will like this n do ur best thanking you,

Manik : Please change the number of JAM Movies because the number(01202957610) which u have mentioned in ur site is not working. Please update it ASAP.

Deepak : The best search site.

Rahul : I searched for pitampura+lounge i did not got name of flamingo? buy the way nice efforts and great website hats off to you would really appreciate if able to get more details.

Sunny : Hi just came to know about your site through a private TV channel and i really like the idea of you people. Could we come up something about VIZAG on your site as the city is growing up very fast in Tourism :)

Rohit : You may want to include search criteria/filters on Vegetarian Hotels. Besides there is no one currently helps to find Jain Food availability. So you could be unique that way.

Manoj : Great service idea, but few citys covered, we are looking forward from Kerala to get your service here.

Ankur : gr8 site. absolutely stunning. jus waiting for pune to be included.

Sonpare : your site sucks !

Srinivas : Hi There, A quick feedback, when i landed in your MAPS page and tried to come back to home page…i couldn’t easily locate link which takes me back to home page….of course i didn’t spend much time to locate that link…..but at first shot i can say it is not easy tolocate that…may be you can improve bit on that end. Thanks,

Abhishek : Hi…i like the idea of a Verticle search engine but i find the name of the website little difficult to remember , and if don’t remember then how would i recommend it .

Tushar : First of all congratulations for this wonderful creation… tht kind of features available eg searching for cinemas.. giving location plus movie runnig + comments n parking n AC facility… its a delightful experience to surf through .. it gave an insight abt the web tools coming expecially in India.. eagerly waiting for the new tools n features.

Tushar : now some suggetsions ;) well the map is bit crude.. though condsidering that its a beta version n workin nicely its fine.. but in future with moire n more categories coming in.. it might create a confusion .. e.g. many results abt cinema hall narrow down the frame of map over the specific block .. but then the precise location is not shown.. if some symbol.. or lfag could b used to indicate this. 2..>> about the route buses .. can it be added.. to reach a particular place, can we have the info abt the bus numbers or prepaid taxi booths.. will be following the progress of this website very keenly.. actually i m kindda excited abt how it would shape up esp when it will start on a full fledged scale.. ~~~ n those cheeky FAQ responses very cute..;)

Dushyant : Hey Guys, Amazing site.. great features and very user friendly.. great going.. Thanks. -Dushyant

Santosh : After typing in a search and getting a pretty relevant list, when I click the maps link, I get a map without the place I queried for is being highlighted. It would be great if the place is also highlighted. For example, on querying for “Daily Bread” in bangalore, and on clicking the maps link beside Indiranagar branch I end up with an Indiranagar map with no mention of Daily Bread in it. Please include this feature also in your search engine

Mandeep : There database of resturants is incomplete. You should have mechanism to receive the inputs from users to have your datbase grow rapidly. Please don’t follow up me with any of your marketing email, I hate that.

Kavita : The UI is awesome! it tends to be a bit slow at times – are you using ajax? how come i cant find any info on bars or restaurants – is that added in already? do you have plans to expand to other cities?

Deepa : Dear Team You should have details regarding hospitals too for the perticular city. so anybody can find out contact details for the same…… Regards

Rahul : It is an excellent effort on your part. Many congrats to you all!! As a start, one would like to have : 1. Pin Codes for areas 2. Banks location, ATMs location, LIC offices location. 3.Bus Terminals, Bus stops, Bus numbers which pass through that area and their destinations. 4. Railway Reservation centers if any. 5. Any Government offices in general….Post offices, Income Tax office, Tehsil, etc. List goes on and on…. Thanks,

Chikki : Hi, I am unable to load maps. Waise this new avtar of onyomo looks awesome. you guys r rocking.

Chikki : Here is a Database update for onyomo.com: Nirula’s Ashok Vihar pincode-110052, Bandh ho chuka hai and instead of that Dominos khul chuka hai.

Ramesh : Excellent piece of work. Although still cant compare with multimap etc , but given the vast nature of India, its a real good piece of art. Wish u all success. Hope u cover whole of India soon Cheers Ramesh

Kavita : wow!! I love this site already! The engine doesn’t handle multi-word queries too well and there’s limited data. But given the tough problem you guys are trying to solve, I’m sure this would become the next big thing in India.. keep up the great work!
Satish : pretty cool. maybe u could let us, as in the user, also submit data on stuff u don’t have yet, like maybe atm locations and stuff. but very cool. cheers

Ashok : Great start….read about you in todays express….keep it up……try adding hospitals and nursing homes and places of yoga teaching and meditation centres.

Renu : I was trying to know about “Zila Khan” the sufi singer from delhi but could not find anything on her on your search engine. Please get her details etc.

rEJIMON : Hi, good begining.. Lets Doodle (Delhi google).

Mohit:

  1. You should have sections like “New at onyomo” and “Press Release”. The reason for have a “new” section is that I have seen several categories and functionality in the past. But I don’t know if anything has been changed. It is unlikely that I would again go and explore something if I didn’t like it at the first time, unless I know that it has been updated. It would also allow me to explore new additions to onyomo. You sent a newsletter in the past. I think that is an excellent idea to keep your audience upto date and give them a reason to come back to you again and again.
  2. I cannot go back to the onyomo with this feedback form open. I would like to surf and keep writing feedback as and when I find something. But right now I can’t do it.
  3. You have to spend on marketing. Speak with webchutney folks they are doing a good job. In current scenario, it would be difficult to buld a brand just based on the product. Once you are satisfied with your product start promoting it heavily. Not everyone can be popular unless they do something drastically different. Press release is a good idea. But investing in a PR consultancy wouldn’t be bad.

Rohit : plzz provide information about massage parlours.

Abhishek : Hi, Great site. Its good to see young entrepreneurs on the indian scene. The site design, logo and color scheme is very good. I think I found a bugs: On clicking on the hotel name in the search results it takes me to the top of the page, also it gives a price for restaurants without listing the products.

Sasikanth : Firstly congratulations on your great site, esp proud to see IITD startups! when I search for a movie name i would like to see the theatres and timings, and be able to book online by going to the link you give. I dont see that rt now. It will be a good addition.

Ganaraj : Restaurants -> add category -> Veg/ N-Veg This is for India right. So localize ;) anyway nice job u guys are doing. gratz.

Srinivasan : I heard about Onyomo on CNN-IBN. I came online to check it out and I found that it’s great. I like the way this search engine works toward city centric data. Also I think Driving Directions could be added to this search engine so as to make driving comfortable. For this you might need the help of the local traffic police to get the latest data on one-ways, etc.

Khushroo : There is an error on your site. When someone clicks on text-it and enters a wrong mobile no. For eg 0986051009 it does not show an error as only 9 digits have been entered and a 0 has been entered. It should show an error. It shows that an sms has been sent on the mobile.

Mouli : Hi guys, its a great initiative and the website looks neat with an elegant style. But it takes a lot of time to load even on a faster LAN connection. Otherwise, you guys are rocking. Keep up the good work. Add more cities, please add tier II cities and towns as well and make India a completely networked nation. Your idea is ahead of its time. So, all the best!

Nilesh : Distinctive work, I hope that lot more is yet execute. Try to add something for students. suppose I select a student form list SE will show students related resources like book stores, coaching, training, colths. it will be just like a packaged search. think this example on several different instances, it will set you different. I have lot more Ideas, but it will be like teaching a shep how to cook, so I will wait for final version of ur site.

Narayan : When will you be putting the mumbai on the list????? if u have all the regular info that an normal mumbaikar wats i am sure your site gonna rock.

Sonia : its awsome man !

We thank you all for your valuable suggestions and feedbacks, We hope to keep hearing from you …

info You said it !, onyomo, suggestions
