Where OnYoMo began?
OnYoMo began where they stopped.
You guys are nuts - this will never take off… No other company has tried this before - why do you want to take this untested path??.. But what would stop any internet biggie to replicate your model overnight.. What are you trying to be - a mix of google, yahoo, ebay or what??.. These and many such comments that our initial discussions and efforts around OnYoMo drew constantly drove us to soulsearch what we were trying to be, and what we wanted to be - they crystallized our thoughts around our objectives.
With a 100+% belief and commitment, an overarching vision and a little cash, two people started this quest to make everyday life better! Aaah…what a grand objective…abstract too!! Underlying thought being “Availability of rich, accurate and timely information gives us higher satisfaction in almost every little thing that we do everyday. It enriches the overall quality of our life.”
Now its a universal truth that 3 is better than 2 - so we got a 3rd member to complete the founding trio that would put the bigger pieces together to weave the OnYoMo canvas. All three - vastly different in style, horrendously passionate, and a bit dreamy - but with that burning desire to translate those dreams…
Set off to do local search on products and services - launched Delhi and Bangalore end of Dec’05. Felt local maps would be a great value add over search results, so added that too. Pls no questions around who designed our UI, how we secured map data, tech etc etc. Wanted to do it..worked really hard and managed to do it (if we did that is!).
Till date, there has been no looking back. Our ambitions have only grown. And OnYoMo has had the fortune of receiving contributions from some really really outstanding and smart team members (OnYoMoites??..Dynamites??!!). Members who uniformly believe(d) in OnYoMo, in its aims. OnYoMo is also truly inspired by positive remarks and constructive feedbacks from thousands of users from hundred different cities all over India!
Till the time OnYoMo continues to receive approval from its user community, the march towards Where OnYoMo belongs will continue!
contd…Where OnYoMo belongs?

i like your idea and your site structure ah great but im concerned about your usage , so much sophistication and just limited categories can work in america , even there minimalism is a geeks domain ,
in india craigs list kinda direct service works but then on a evolved level when u have usage mayb such sophistication
but it is good model

Hi
I have been quite an occasional visitor of this website since I came to know about OnYoMo and also covered it my blog at - Talking about An Indian Search Engine startup (http://www.netgautam.com/wordpress/2006/10/07/talking-about-an-indian-search-engine-startup/).
I have been using and loving your service which covers different sectors across India. Although it is an inspired service but then it has added lot of new features on its own - I must say. Keep up the good work, Guys.
Best Wishes.

I was in need of some information, and this site dint disappoint me… I was blessed by all the information.
But when i searched the discs of Pune then only the name of 10 Discs was displayed and the best Disc of Pune “Area-51″ and “Lush” were missing.
However there was some information about “Lush” in restaurant corner.
So,please mention the name of Area-51 ASAP.
Area-51 is the proud of Pune.

I learnt about this site in t2(supplement of The Telegraph newspaper). After I checked it out, the whole concept seemed brilliant-providing necessary info at the click of a mouse. I have got myself registered and am loving the journey since then. Hope to see many more new sections soon. Keep up the good work folks.

Thanks for your kind words.
We would continue to strive to deliver services that bind our users closely to their cities, and that bring out their pearls of wisdom about their cities.
Pls do keep informing us of any feedback/inputs you may have. We eagerly await all such inputs.

Found the site while searching google. Liked the idea and the site very much. Idea is great to award the contributor for his contributions. This should soon be the richest database of india! Till now entries are very limited, this may be due to they are not updating their database by the input of the contributors. I myself entered few outlets in last few days, none of them are still available! So I stopped contributing. I wish all the success of the site, which in turn help everyone in the country.

Hi Sparsha,
We are including all outlets added by you after verifying that they are not getting duplicated.
We have been receiving a lot of new outlets added by users, and would soon, on due verification, include them on the service. We’d notify you once they are added.
Typically, expect that it would take us a week before your added listing shows up on our service. Currently, the load is a bit higher, so its taking a little longer, but we’d soon iron it out.
Thanks,
Shailesh

Thank you Mr. Sailesh for ur quick clarification. Wishing all the success of this innovative idea. It will be better if you allow the user to add category which u can edit after wards. Many categories are left out like, catering services, ceremony hall rental, people doing very good repair jobs of electronics and mobile etc, and so on. They are always sought for. Reviewing is not available in library! which should have been there, I thought. Hospitals, similarly should have a review section.
Best wishes and thanks again.
Sparsha
