Dilemna, or is it really one?

our goal always was that we would be THE comprehensive source of data for all the categories we do..restaurants, bars etc etc…but it takes heck of an effort and sometimes you wonder if the marginal benefit is worth it.
so the dilemna always is do you put that extra bit of effort in finding that chaat wala tucked in a corner of colaba or just go with the “popular” joints.

i think it is. It’s always great when find that great place near your office serving your favourite food, that you had never heard of, that never advertises. and i hope onyomo helps our users find it.There is no point in being a restaurant finder or hotel finder or anything else for that matter if you dont cover 95% of the category.
on the other hand regardless of how hard you try you will still miss places. how does one get to know of these? we are thinking of it..and hopefully you will see something soon.

Lets hear from you …

Categories: You said it !, onyomo, suggestions

One of the most exciting thing in a start-up is to hear from the people using the product or services. This is one thing that motivates and inspires us to keep discovering the best. Here we have compiled what you have been saying to us, sometimes it is suggestions to improve other times demands for ‘more’ … Other times there are comments which are so generous and satisfying that we dont even remember missing that dabba of lunch! .. and sometime plain “you s**k !”.
Here we have put what some of you have said, Be it Bouquets or Brickbats — All are Welcome.

Siddharth: I think onyomo is really original, and the first of its kind in our country. It would do better if it gave live feeds of weather services. For eg. If i wanted to go to ITO, and i wanted information about the water looging situation there(It has rained heavily today), Onyomo could provide relevant info. about such matters. And then i could take a decision of whether or not to take my car there!!
Nazia : Hello! this is Nazia from Hyderabad I have read an article about onyomo on ibnlive.com and did go through u’r site which really is a helpfull one. Can I expect Hyderabad to join the run!?

Samir : Hi, i think this is good start and it will help a lot of people on the same. But this site should be advertise .so that people will know abt the same.

Aparnaa : hi, First i would like to congradulate u for this good work!! its a novel idea. there are many ways u could improve this better. just today i had a quick look and tried a search in bangalore ..i am fomr bangalore.. itried the following .. in first text box: icici ten i gave pin as 560078 and then in the categories drop down i selected ATM,its giving out the complete list of icici atms ..thats ok..but b4 it starts the serach i saw a quick popup that said seraching for florists!!! i think u need to check the details for that popup, its describing someother search!! i’ll let u know my feedbacks later.. it will be great if we have one such site with complete features about our city!!

Sriram.s : Respeceted Sir, I find your search engine to be excellent particularly for those who r new to the city.I wish that u extend this service to all the major cities in India so that it wuld be useful for number of people.I congratulate u for the exceellent job done and convey my best wishes to th entire team of onyomo to grow further, reach greater heights and to serve numerous people.

vanakkam chennai..

since we all work in delhi it was the first city we thought of covering. over the last few months we have seen users from the unlikeliest of places asking us to cover thier cities. it heartening to see such requests because it reaffirms value in what you do, but at the same time one has constraints :(.

i am especially happy that we are almost at the final lap of delivering a great chennai experience on onyomo.

whats interesting is that lifestyle and cultural choices greatly vary in india. so while the fun loving delhiite(pardon the sterotype :)) could search for one thing..the practical time crunched mumbaite is looking for something else.

what do you think will chennaites search for the most :)…
